Dear ML factory,
I am very pleased with the guitarkit and also with the aftersale service! I used only the original parts provided with the kit, exept for the black plastic covers, which I exchanged for homemade ones in walnut and mahogany ‚plywood‘, glued together from salvaged pieces of veneer from old piano’s. I also added a pickguard, made in the same way, but keeping the shape of the original piece of tree the veneer was taken from. For the finish of the body and the neck I used French polish: more work than modern paints or varnishes, but with a nice ’shiny but not plastic‘ effect. After having built up enough layers (around 80) the very light colour of the wood developed to a beautiful and very warm mahogany-orange. The finish is more vulnerable than modern ones, but it is easy to repair, ages well and has a warm, almost velvety, feel, which is especially nice on the neck.

Wow, really nice guitar. I like the idea, how you build it. Especially the pickguard fits well in the appearance.

Nice Work! Have you Cut the Headstok or is it out of the Box i cant see it on the Pictures ?
